Gemlink is another great puzzle game from TND Studios. The folks there have been kind enough to give me permission to use their content in my walkthroughs.

The concept is simple enough: a square board has a few pairs of gems scattered across it; link the gems and make sure the pathways fill the entire board. Sounds easy enough and some of the small 5×5 grids are, having said that, there are still some good challenges in the 5×5 level. These build in complexity all the way up to 10×10 boards. Because the entire board has to be filled, more gems doesn’t always make it harder. In fact, less gems on a large board can be a lot more challenging. Generally speaking lots of gems reduces the options and makes the pathways very clear.

In total there are 118 individual boards / gem combinations which is enough to keep most people going for hours. The great thing is because each puzzle is not related to any other you can start and stop without having to commit to a long session. Choose the walkthrough you need:

If these 118 levels aren’t enough you can create your own and share them with your friends via facebook or email using the Gemlink Level Editor

There are various strategies to use in solving these. The main things to look for at the start are loops and edge connections. Once an edge has been filled in the treat the board as consisting only of the remaining empty spaces – it becomes smaller. If that doesn’t work then undo and try a different edge connection.
